It’s Election Day in Boston where voters are asked to cast their ballot in the mayoral and City Council races.

At-large and four district City Council seats are on the ballot Tuesday.

The at-large race will declare eight winners to face off in November. The City Council candidates running at large include:

  • Donnie Palmer
  • Jon Spillane
  • Kelly Bates
  • Said Abdikarim
  • Domingos DaRosa
  • Althea Garrison
  • Alexander Gray
  • Bridget Nee-Walsh
  • Ruthzee Louijeune
  • Julia Mejia (incumbent)
  • Michael Flaherty (incumbent)
  • Nick Vance
  • James Colimon
  • David Halbert
  • Erin Murphy
  • Carla Monteiro
  • Roy Owens

For the District 4 seat, two will be chosen to continue onto the general election in November. The candidates on the ballot Tuesday include:

  • Evandro Carvalho
  • Brian Worrell
  • Troy Smith
  • Joel Richards
  • Deeqo Jibril
  • William Dickerson
  • Josette Williams
  • Leonard Lee
  • Jacob Urena

For the District 6 seat, two will be chosen to continue onto the general election in November. The candidates on the ballot Tuesday include:

  • Kendra Hicks
  • Winnie Eke
  • Mary Tamer

For the District 7 seat, two will be chosen to continue onto the general election in November. The candidates on the ballot Tuesday include:

  • Brandy Brooks
  • Joao DePina
  • Marisa Luse
  • Tania Anderson
  • Roy Owens
  • Lorraine Wheeler
  • Santiago Rivera
  • Angelina Camacho

For the District 9 seat, two will be chosen to continue onto the general election in November. The candidates on the ballot Tuesday include:

  • Liz Breadon (incumbent)
  • Michael Bianchi
  • Eric Porter,

Voters will narrow the mayoral field from five candidates to a pair to face off in November. Mayoral races in Boston do not include party primaries. All of the candidates are Democrats.

Of the five candidates, all are people of color and four are women. The mayoral hopefuls include: Acting Mayor Kim Janey, city councilors Annissa Essaibi George, Andrea Campbell and Michelle Wu, and John Barros, the city’s former economic development chief.

Polls close on Election Day at 8 p.m. when ballots will begin to be tabulated.
