"California, today is Election Day. We’re counting on you to vote NO on the recall to keep @GavinNewsom in office and California moving forward," the president tweeted. "Polls are open until 8pm. Make your voice heard."
Ballots mailed last month to the Golden State’s 22 million registered voters must be postmarked by the end of Tuesday – or deposited into drop boxes or handed in in-person at the polls by 8 p.m. PT.
The president woke up in the Golden State on Tuesday morning after hours earlier headlining an election eve rally with Newsom in the southern California city of Long Beach.
Stressing what's at stake in the election, Biden said that "the eyes of the nation are on California because the decision you’re going to make isn't just going to have a huge impact on California, it’s going to reverberate around the nation, and quite frankly — not a joke — around the world."
